Progress Report (Internship) with Poor Bear Stories
Author: Madeline Muralles
A lot has been accomplished since I first began my internship with Poor Bear Stories back in June. I first started off as an event photographer for SOWF’s Operation EPIC 2022, where I captured photos of students and speakers who attended the conference, as well as group photos and a variety of others as well. In addition, I also assisted in setting up lighting equipment for professional headshots.
After returning to Clermont from EPIC, I’ve developed skills for preparing a pitch to potential clients for film projects by assisting in writing white papers for organizations such as SOCOM and Frog Fuel, as well as developing ideas with research and vision boards. Other tasks I took on include assembling a highlight reel, storyboarding for a Frog Fuel commercial, taking inventory of all company assets and listing for rent/sale, and development of a music video for the song “Toxic Relationship”. Furthermore, I also assembled and color graded a collection of short social media ads for Frog Fuel, and crafted a television intro script (teleplay) in collaboration with Jacob for Stacey Dash.
However, there’s still plenty to do before I finish my internship near the end of August. A significant portion of my time here at Poor Bear this month will focus on the production phase on set for “Toxic Relationship” as well as a Disney Princess photo/video shoot, and finally a spec. ad commercial for Frog Fuel. In closing, I will also participate in an upcoming audit to observe how we can further enhance our website, social presence, and project management, as well as identify any weaknesses within the company and how those can be improved upon.
Note from Jacob (Creative Director):
There is a lot that goes in to a successful internship, from planning to execution and follow up items. I had no idea how much an internship might require of my time and resources but it has given the company a new life and motivations. Moving forward, our goal is to provide a successful environment where interns can grow and develop themselves to further accomplish their endeavors. For this internship we partnered with various organizations who were willing to provide an environment for that growth and support. If you are a business owner or work for a company who would be interested in partnering with us in the future, please send us a message.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
