How AI tools for Video Production can be used for good and BAD in 2024 (Live Demo): Be warned!
Author: Madeline Muralles
The rise of AI has brought both hope and worry to the world of storytelling and beyond. One particular situation that can be concerning is the use of AI to replicate and manipulate one’s voice. As Jake and Jhoel are showcasing in this demo, just a few minutes of clear audio of one’s voice is enough to make a replication that is not easy to tell apart from the real deal for some. And with slight adjustments, the voice can become even more lifelike.
While AI voice cloning can be useful in certain situations such as adding supplemental audio essential to the story, there are growing concerns that it can also be used with malicious intent. For example, one might suddenly get a message asking for things that sounds like it’s from someone they know, when in fact it might be from someone else. This concern is also prevalent when used in business and politics as well. To finish off, be careful and be aware of the potential risk when dealing with AI- one day, someone else might impersonate you, and live off your name without you even knowing!
