Safety on Set (MMM#48)

Safety on Set (MMM#48)

Greetings all,

Madeline here, with yet another Movie Minute. For today’s topic, we’ll be focusing on why safety is one of our most important values in our productions!

No matter how big or small the production of a project is, safety must always be the top priority, no matter how it can affect the finished story. Sometimes, one might have an ambitious vision of what the complete story would look like. However, here at Poor Bear Stories, anything that risks the lives and safety of us or others is a no-go.

That’s why when we’re going on field or on set to film content, we make sure that both our bodies and our gear are taken good care of- before, during, and after production. Before we start production for the day, we need to make sure we get some good sleep and breakfast, that way we have all the energy we can to actively shoot footage and conduct interviews, among many other tasks. This is especially true when we need to store and set up equipment such as cameras, tripods, and lighting stands, as failure to properly secure them can result in serious damage to our gear or even the people on set!  Even off set, safety remains a #1 priority. When storing equipment after production has wrapped for the day, we always eliminate any potential hazards to people or gear when breaking down or preparing for the next day’s shoot.

Overall, safety and wellbeing is always paramount within our productions, no matter the size or subject. And in the long run, making sure everyone and everything involved is safe results in amazing and powerful stories that we can craft.

And that concludes this entry in The Movie Minute. Wishing you all the best, and see y’all in 2! -Madeline
