Jacob Centeno
Founder & Creative Director
Jacob graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of San Diego and has been producing multi-media commercial content for over 10 years. A staunch advocate for Gold Star families and the Special Operations community, his story-first approach enables organizations of all sizes and styles to tell their stories with high-impact, connection-driven purpose.
Building Poor Bear Stories has been a dream I never knew I had. Starting with my first commissioned project in 2013, the talent and stories that have come our way is nothing short of a miracle – for which I am incredibly grateful.
I found my love for telling stories as a kid, late at night with my grandma before bedtime. Her storytelling was pure, had purpose and even had plot twists. What’s more, she invested in several high-quality video recorders throughout the 90’s and enjoyed recording everything from family BBQ’s to weddings. She even learned to ‘shoot for the edit,’ making seamless transitions without ever having to splice the footage.

Katie Conner Centeno
Business Administrator
Katie graduated with a degree in communications from the University of South Alabama and is finishing her MBA at Louisiana State University. She is a recognized leader at the Walt Disney Company, with 7 years of experience across various departments to include marketing/research, park operations and hospitality. She provides a back-bone to Poor Bear Stories business development and ongoing sustainability.
My biggest passion is leadership development. I love being able to teach and inspire to impact people and prepare for their future.
I started my first business, an event and storytelling company, in 2013. It was then that I found my passion for refining a product and service for others. Fast forward to the founding years of Poor Bear Stories, I take great pride and pleasure knowing my initial investment would become a thriving and successful venture today.
